The New Album!! (and it’s launch gig!!)

Over November, December and January DBQ recorded their first album for 8 years!!

The final edits and mixing is being done as we write this but I can assure you that this is something stellar. I have scoured Spotify and alike and I honestly can’t find anything that sounds quite like this. This is visceral, complex, time-shifting music that demands the very best.

DBQ last launched an album 8 years ago but on Wednesday 4th March DBQ heads into The Paris Cat Jazz Club to unveil their most exciting and ambitious project to date.

This phrase get bandied around regularly but with heartfelt sincerity you want to be there for this!

Daimon Brunton – trumpet
Adam Donaldson – drums
Adam Rudegeair – keyboard
Lawson Kennard – bass
David Gooey – guitar

‘The Daimon Brunton Quintet’ has recorded 4 albums; sold out venues all over Australia and completed a national tour and now the band gets ready for album No. 5.

Influenced largely by Clifford Brown, Freddie Hubbard, Hiromi, Snarky Puppy and Wynton Marsalis, The Daimon Brunton Quintet is like nothing you have ever heard before.

On Thursday 24th October, Daimon Brunton and his outstanding band enter the basement of The Paris Cat Jazz Club for an evening of unparalleled inventiveness!

This is the new direction of jazz and you won’t be able to take your ears off it. Funky, melodic, catchy and sophisticated this is music that sounds like nothing else.

DBQ are BACK at The Paris Cat Jazz Club! And there’s a new full-length album in the pipeline!

The Daimon Brunton Quintet (or DBQ) return to the beautiful Paris Cat Jazz Club on Wednesday 24th July.

At a gathering 20 years ago Daimon had an in-depth discussion with another musician asking the question whether it would ever be possible for an original, instrumental jazz tune of high sophistication and quality to be a popular ‘hit’.

Well the conversation finished without resolution and Daimon has been searching for an answer, via his compositions and trumpet playing, ever since.

DBQ hope to record their fifth full length feature album later this year and things are building to quite a climax.

On Wednesday the DBQ perform at The Paris Cat Jazz Club in an effort to answer the question that began 20 years ago.

If you subscribe to the DBQ website (via www.daimonbrunton.com) and attend the gig on Wednesday 24th July we will give you a full album length CD free of charge.

DBQ LIVE on Wednesday 10th April at The Paris Cat Jazz Club! Don’t miss this!

On Wednesday 10th April myself (Daimon Brunton), Adam Donaldson, Adam Rudegeair, David Gooey & Lawson Kennard descend the velvet staircase of The Paris Cat Jazz Club to play tunes we love and would love to share with you. Catchy, hip, funky and sophisticated songs that explore the complexity of the human condition. We’d love to share this night with you. Tix at: https://www.rollerdigital.com/pariscat/product/269156…
